My new release kit for April 9 is Limelight! Limelight is sort of a re-release/re-make of an old kit. But 2/3 the papers are new and only a handful of the old elements passed my test to make it into the new version! I'm very proud of the this re-release!

This kit is bright, bold, and striking with its vivid pink, blue, and green mixed with black! The 13 papers have bold patterns, grunged edges, wrinkled, and more. The 36 elements contain some really great goodies that you can use over and over in both girl and boy layouts. Imagine using them with summer layouts, or the light green goes great with spring too. The pink and black would be great for girls night layouts! Just some of the elements are a ribbon wrapped frame, scalloped frame with bling, a 3-circle frame, and a great bubbled round frame. My Baby is Nine...

So...guess what? My oldest, my first born, my baby (or all three girls my babies?) turned NINE this week. It makes me sad. Where has the last nine years gone? It seems just like last week that she was learning to walk. Last week that I dropped her at her first day of kindergarten. Last week that I she first rode her bike. Now...she's a swimmer on the local private swim club, an avid jazz and hip hop dancer, and has gone to a state competition for Battle of the Books. Yes, it makes me sad. But...also...she couldn't make me more proud! Isn't she beautiful? :-)

Color Challenge?!?!? HELP!

So, you all know I do the Color Challenge at Scrappity-Doo-Dah the first 1/2 of every month. I've had a lot of fun with it so far this year. But...here it is March 21st and I'm still clueless what I'm going to challenge you all with come April 1. Have any ideas? C'mon....I know you do! Leave me a comment and let me know what color or color scheme I should do! Is everyone totally and completely OD'd on spring colors yet? I could always do spring colors but thought you all would have had enough of it this year. LOL

So, c'mon! Leave me a comment and tell me what color(s) you'd like to see in a color challenge! Color codes are always helpful too. :)

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Brook, a member of the wonderful, talented K2 Kreative Krew has posted a brand new challenge on the K2 blog and she titled it "Let's Play Dominos" - and it looks like a lot of fun. I'll show you a pic but you'll have to go to the K2 Kreative Krew blog to find out more!

I used to do domino art way way way back in the day of actual crafting that wasn't digital. LOL And...I even scraped up some photos of some dominos I did during that time. Ya know what I'm talking about....well, maybe you don't....I used to be sooo completely obsessed with rubber stamping, collage, art journals, etc. Then I found digital.... LOL But I did have a whole lot of fun with dominos and here is some of my artwork!

Junkyard Charm has not been available in quite a while. But it was too popular to put in the vault...so I revamped it - added 5 papers and 19 more elements! Wahoo! Completely Reloaded! You'll find grunge, rust, dirt, worn, and old in this kit. Not only will you find 13 grunged, worn, and wrinkled papers but you'll also find 39 elements! We had many applications...so many that we had to turn a few away because we didn't want the team to get too big. All were great applicants though! That said....We did hire SIX new krew! I love the Birds of a Feather (BOF) event at SDD every month! All designers who participate use a common color swatch and everyone creates fun packs of goodies that coordinate. Then for three days that month, all those packs of goodies are on sale for ONE DOLLAR! Yep, I said $1 each! Awesome, huh??? :-) And its only for three days then designers set their goodies to regular price. The BOF event is set for February 12, 13, and 14, 20101!!! Don't miss it! During the event, you'll see a Birds of a Feather category on the left side of the store at SDD!

Moonberry is my newest kit release. I love the colors – greens and purples are my thing right now. I can’t get enough. Moonberry is available as a full kit or as separate element and paper packs. 13 papers include 9 grungy patterns and four solids. 36 elements include: two moons, a moon spray, bead sprinkle, glitter sprinkle, beads hanging from a string, ribbon bow, striped twirled ribbon, four fabric flowers with bling centers, two birds, journal strips, staples, single blueberry, single blackberry, snail, three different foliage branches (one with blueberries), twig frame, double frame, twine with purple flowers, single purple flower, two brown paper tags, twiggy wreath, and more! Months & Years and Weekday Rings were both inspired by Project 365. I can’t imagine having to make all those layouts and take all those pictures. When applying for a CT Layout Artist position on our team, please be aware of the following expectations that are required of our artists.

4 layouts per month, of which 50% of the layout should be of the kit you are highlighting
Only one layout per kit is required

And if you haven't used photo masks before and would like to try them....try this one for free! I think you'll love using it soo much that you'll want more. LOL

To use a photo mask in Adobe Photoshop: Place a photo over your photo mask, make sure your photo is selected in the layers palette, and press Ctrl + G (Photoshop) to activate the clipping mask. You can also choose Layer > Create Clipping Mask or Layer > Group with Previous, depending on your version of Photoshop.

I'm still kind of in disbelief! When SDD asked me to collab with Faith True....I sat there with my mouth hanging open. I blinked a couple of times and there it was.....still on my Yahoo IM screen! Have you seen Faith draw? Wowsa is all I can say. See....I can't draw at all. Seriously, my straight lines can't even be called straight lines. I have been sooo busy lately! What have I been doing you ask? LOL Cause you haven't seen me lately...huh? I know....bad me. But I'll be getting better cause I'm sinking my teeth into designing once again. Dedicating more time to it, more research, etc. And with that....I have big news!

I'm leaving Plain Digital Wrapper. Yes, that is huge news....because I've been there about almost two years now. Its been home for a while. But its time to say goodbye to PDW. Its been coming for a while and a great NEW opportunity dropped right into my lap, so I jumped on it! But shhhh...that part is a secret right now. Back to PDW.

Many many many things are going to retire into the vault forever when I leave PDW on the last day of this year. I was going to have a retirement sale...but for some reason I'm not able to access my store. :-( But I'm working on that. If I do have a sale, I'll let you know!

How could I possibly forget? I need to tell you about yet another collab I've completed with my partner in crime...er, I mean partner in design! :-) Check out My Dad & Me. The size of this collab is whopping! 22 papers and 61 elements.....and all are soo versatile and great for all kinds of layouts.

I can't even begin to tell you enough about this collab. I had such fun with the color palette. In fact, the more we designed, the more we wanted to keep going...LOL!

I have this great friend and co-worker (my real job) who has a talent with his camera and with photoshop. Well, it just soo happens he is great with a scanner too. LOL Him and I have partnered up to offer some great CU stuff for designer use. And even better...we have a wonderful TOU for Commercial Use. Use it, no credit required...but always appreciated. Personal Use TOU must of course credit myself and Tim Workman. The buttons below come from his wife's great great grandmother. They've been passed down generation to generation!

So...I think I finally have to admit how bad of a blogger I am. I used to blog all the time.....before my 3rd little girl was born. Now I spend every waking spare minute just staring at her trying to capture every single breath she takes before she gets older. I can't believe that today she is 11 months. Makes me sooo sad. I know its supposed to make me sad.....but this sad??? Geez...I seriously want to find Father Time and just beg, beg and plead, him to slow down time. I don't want her to grow up. I wonder if this is happening cause I know she is my last baby? Yes, three girls is enough. LOL

But enough about my bad blogging and sadness my baby is about to turn one year old......you're here to see what I've been working on, I'm sure. All the new releases that I haven't let you know about. My bad......

Don't we all? I wish I had one...mine is full of four dogs. LOL But if I had a relaxing (quiet!) backyard, I'd dream of having a white picket fence....that was the idea behind this kit.

My new release! :-)
Cool, calm blues, fresh greens, and throw in some wood and dirt – you have a relaxing backyard retreat. Fly a kite, add some sunshine, green grass, and flowers! There are 7 patterned papers, 4 coordinating solids, and an incredible 35 elements in this kit. Hang tags from a branch, hang pictures from the two photo hangers, three whimsical trees, a house frame, window frame, and a realistic wood frame. Six words on tags, three ribbon flowers, two clouds, a picket fence, two wrinkled brown paper tags with threads, and a 12-inch scatter of glitter and beads. You can do soo much with this kit. It is very versatile, good for boys and girls, and has soo many element that you can use over and over again. 300 dpi and great quality!

An Awesome Recipe and a Teaser

Hi there! I don't know about you but I love raspberries. I can't get enough of them. I eat them fresh (my favorite), put them in pies, smoothies, swedish pancakes...you name it, I love it with raspberries. But this recipe I discovered today and it is soooo mouth watering that I just have to share it!

Raspberry Barbeque Sauce

3 garlic cloves, peeled
1/4 t olive or canola oil
1 1/4 cups unsweetened raspberries
3 T brown sugar
1 T balsamic vinegar
1 T light corn syrup
1 t molasses
1/2 t lemon juice
1/4 to 1/2 t crushed red pepper flakes
1/8 t salt
1/8 t pepper
dash onion powder

Place garlic on a double thickness of heavy-duty foil; drizzle with oil. Wrap foil around garlic. Bake at 425 for 15-20 minutes. Cool for 10-15 minutes.

Place softened garlic in a small saucepan. Add the remaining ingredients. Cook over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes until sauce is thickened and bubbly. Remove from the heat; cool slightly. Transfer to a food processor blender; cover and process until smooth. Strain seeds. Store in refrigerator.

We used this on boiled and then barbequed country style ribs and I can't even begin to tell you how yummy they were! Natalie (our 2-year old) scarfed this up! I ate soo much that I'm still full hours later. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Tomorrow I'm making a raspberry-rhubarb pie and a lemon-raspberry loaf! My mouth is already watering...

There has been a very interesting and indepth discussion lately about freebies and how they are ruining the DS market. It has been interesting to read all the different points of views...from designers and customers alike. And wouldn't it just figure that it would come right at a time when I have all these freebies to give away. Now I'm undecided what to do. I'll be designing a lot this weekend and be thinking about it.

And guess what else everyone? I've been MIA the last few days cause guess what? I turned 34 yesterday! My family was sooo nice to me yesterday! I got free time, a cooked dinner, flowers, and more!

I know, I know...more change! :-) But the old blog just wasn't inspiring me anymore. I didn't post enough, the designs were old (and not mine!), and I just needed a change!
